What Is the Purpose of This Notice?
The purpose of this notice is to invite written comments regarding schools and school districts with career and technology programs that will be evaluated by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools for initial or renewed accreditation in order to qualify to administer federal Title IV financial aid programs.

Institutions scheduled for an accreditation onsite visit can be found in the Directory.

What Must My Comments Address?
Comments in response to this notice must address the school’s/district’s compliance with the Commission on Secondary Schools’ Standards for Accreditation. The Standards are included on the Commission’s website. Comments must include the printed or typewritten full name, street address, city, state/territory, and zip code of each author and must include an original signature of each author. Comments submitted anonymously or without all of the required identification will not be considered. Although not required, a telephone number or e-mail address for each author would be helpful.

Where Should I Submit My Comments?
Please submit your written comments not later than 30 days prior to the first date of the evaluation visit to Kenneth D. Kastle, Ed.D., Deputy Executive Director, Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, telephone: (215) 662-5603, extension 5041.

Will This Be My Only Opportunity to Submit Written Comments?
Yes, this notice announces the only opportunity you will have to submit written comments regarding the schools/districts shown above.

What Happens to the Comments That I Submit?
Comments, as appropriate, will be included in the staff analyses presented to the Commission at its semi-annual meeting. Therefore, in order for CSS to give full consideration to your comments, it is important that they be received not later than 30 days prior to the first day of the scheduled evaluation visit. In all instances, your comments about schools/districts seeking initial or renewed accreditation must relate to the Commission’s Standards for Accreditation.

What Happens to Comments Received after the Deadline?
Comments received after the deadline will be reviewed by the CSS staff to determine what applicability, if any, they should have to the accreditation decision-making process. Comments received after the Commission on Secondary Schools has made its accreditation decision regarding a specific school will not be considered.
